POSITION: Emergency Contact

COMPENSATION: Use of a free apartment, subject to California law and a voluntary written agreement.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Monitor and Report: Emergencies, maintenance problems, health and safety concerns and lease violations that pose a threat to the health and safety of the residents or the property. An emergency is defined as any situation which is not under control and may result in injury, death or damage to the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position but this list is not to be deemed all-encompassing. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Responds to emergencies by first calling 911 and then the Manager or Regional Property Supervisor. Remain at the property until the Manager or their supervisor contacts them with instructions.
  • Retains a list of emergency contact numbers for Charities Housing and the service providers at all times.
  • Sets a schedule with the Regional Property Supervisor. Any schedule modification requires prior approval from the Regional Property Supervisor.
  • Emergency Contact and family are required to follow Charities Housing Code of Conduct at all times while on Charities Housing property.
  • Emergency Contact will not enforce policies or interview the residents regarding issues about after hours or overnight guests or other lease violators. Contractor will monitor and report only.
  • Responsible for after hours walk through of property’s exterior common grounds including parking lot, filling out work order requests on the Maintenance Request Form, including all relevant information such as date received and provide these to the Manager/Assistant Manager the following work day.
  • The Emergency Contact will inform Charities Housing when he/she is absent from the property for 1 or more consecutive nights.
  • Unlocks vacant apartments for vendor work on an as needed basis.
  • When needed, cleans/pick up debris around the common areas during walk through of the grounds.
  • Posts general notices (no legal notices).
  • Posts warnings on cars w/o permits and forward request to tow to management.
  • Forwards emergency calls to Manager.
  • Reports on resident activity that is against lease.
  • Enters all hours worked on a timecard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
