Our Commitment to Equal Opportunity

Charities Housing is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse environment without discrimination. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, family status, national origin, or any other preference. This commitment is consistent with federal and U.S. law. Conforms to Treasury Department policy prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

Legal Protections and Title VI

Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, discrimination based on race, color, or national origin is prohibited in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. This includes certain employment practices, mainly when the primary purpose of the aid is to provide employment. While Title VI’s protection against employment discrimination is limited, most complaints are referred to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Reporting Discrimination

If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination, you can file a complaint with Charities Housing, the EEOC, or directly with the US Department of the Treasury. To file a complaint, write to the US Department of the Treasury, Director, Office of Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity, 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20220, or email crcomplaints@treasury.gov.
